Muscat – The CDAA has issued an advisory to underscore its commitment to maintaining and verifying safety conditions, aimed at preventing fires in industrial facilities across the Sultanate.

Considering that the industrial facilities and buildings are amongst such achievements, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority is calling on all the industrial companies and their workers to observe the safety conditions,” states the advisory, listing the reasons for industrial fires and safety procedures.
Reasons for industrial fires:

  3. Inappropriate storage of hazardous materials.
  4. Neglect in regular maintenance of alarm and firefighting systems.
  5. Failure to verify the integrity of electrical wiring.
  6. Random and unsafe storage practices.
    Recommended safety procedures:
  7. Strict adherence to safety instructions for industrial facilities.
  8. Avoiding the use of non-permanent building materials.
  9. Regular maintenance of alarm and firefighting systems.
  10. Proper storage of permitted materials in designated areas.
  11. Training employees to handle minor incidents effectively.
  12. Appointing a safety and security officer to oversee safety measures.
  13. Creating a safe working environment to ensure the wellbeing of all employees.
The CDAA continues to monitor and ensure compliance with these safety measures, aiming to prevent fire incidents and promote a culture of safety within Oman’s industrial sector.
