MUSCAT : The CDAA noted that high temperatures contribute to this trend, with 45 fires reported in 2023 compared to 41 incidents in 2022.

According to the Authority’s reports, these fires are often due to non-compliance with civil protection requirements by some industrial facilities. This negligence leads to significant property damage and human and material losses.

The Authority emphasized the need for strict adherence to the safety guidelines issued by the general administration of civil protection. Key preventive measures include regular maintenance of alarm and firefighting systems, adherence to safety procedures during storage, and the preparation of an emergency plan. Additionally, the Authority stressed the importance of training workers on how to implement emergency procedures effectively.
