MUSCAT : The court sentenced the representative of the establishment to 10 days in prison and imposed a fine.
The case originated from a complaint lodged by a consumer with the Consumer Protection Authority. The consumer reported that he had an agreement with the establishment to manufacture and install a kitchen within 45 days from the date of taking measurements. When the establishment failed to complete the work on time, the consumer filed a complaint with the Authority, which forwarded it to the Public Prosecution.
Following an investigation, the Public Prosecution referred the case to the competent court. The court found the representative of the establishment guilty of a misdemeanor for failing to provide the agreed-upon service properly and subsequently sentenced him to imprisonment and a fine.
