MUSCAT : Oman has paid off outstanding international sukuk bonds worth RO 700 million. This strategic payment has effectively reduced the Sultanate’s overall public debt to RO 14.5 billion, bringing the public debt ratio to GDP down to 33.9% in the first half of 2024.
