MUSCAT : This measure aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of products in the local market.
The ban follows the European system for cosmetics and personal care products (EC NO. 1223/2009), which is a supplementary reference in the Gulf Technical Regulation for Cosmetics – Safety Requirements for Cosmetics and Personal Care Products (GSO 2021/1943), mandated by Ministerial Resolution 199/2021.
The ban is effective from the date of this announcement. Importers and distributors are required to comply with this regulation to ensure that all cosmetics and personal care products in the market meet the specified safety standards.
