MUSCAT : These initiatives include periodic health visits for children aged three and four years, and an updated women’s and children’s health register.
These initiatives are a direct outcome of the Laboratory for the Development of Services and Programs for Persons with Disabilities, which has been focusing on creating sustainable and effective health solutions.
The regular health visits for children aged three and four are designed to ensure continuity of medical examinations until pre-school age. These visits aim to provide crucial early detection and intervention for diseases and disabilities, thus enabling timely support and better health outcomes.
Parents are encouraged to maintain the ‘pink card’, a health record for children, and to adhere to scheduled visits, reading the recommendations and messages provided.
Besides, the updated register for women and children health will serve as a comprehensive database to facilitate better tracking of health trends and outcomes. This registry will provide essential data on diseases and disabilities in children, aiding in the development of targeted interventions and support mechanisms.
