Pakistan court acquits former Prime Minister Imran Khan in state secrets case

Despite the acquittal, Khan will remain in prison, having also been convicted in another case.

LAHORE: A Pakistan high court on Monday overturned a treason conviction against jailed former prime minister Imran Khan who remains in jail on other charges. 

The 71-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party founder has been in jail since August last year after being convicted in some of the nearly 200 cases slapped on him since his ouster in April 2022.
