Muscat – The consumer, who resides in Al Dakhiliyah, filed a complaint with the CPA after a door detailing and installation workshop failed to fulfill its contractual obligations. The consumer had paid a down payment of RO 1,480. However, the institution failed to provide an invoice for the contract and did not specify a timeline for completing the work, leading to repeated delays contrary to the agreed terms.
Frustrated by the institution’s procrastination and lack of adherence to the contract, the consumer submitted his complaint to the Authority, which negotiated a settlement that ensured the consumer was refunded the full amount paid.
The Consumer Protection Authority urges suppliers to comply with consumer protection laws and fulfill their obligations, ensuring that consumer rights are respected when providing goods or services. This case underscores the Authority’s commitment to resolving disputes and maintaining fair practices in the marketplace.
