Muscat – In a notice issued online, the Ministry alerted business owners to adhere to the policy of midday breaks during peak summer months, with a warning of heavy fines for violators.

From June through August, work is prohibited from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to ensure the safety and well-being of workers exposed to high temperatures.

The Ministry also stated that those violating the directive will face administrative penalties ranging from a minimum fine of RO 500 to a maximum of RO 1,000.

This midday work ban aims to protect workers from the extreme summer heat, which poses significant health risks. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of compliance with this regulation and urges all businesses to implement necessary measures to safeguard their employees during the specified hours.
