LAHORE: Shaheen Afridi who was offered the vice captaincy of the Pakistan T20 side ahead of the ICC World Cup announcement rejected the offer to take up the position, according to ESPNcricinfo.
According to the report, the national selection committee wanted to name Shaheen as Babar Azam’s deputy for the global tournament.
Shaheen was sacked as T20I captain after just one series against New Zealand and was replaced by Babar.
