Muscat – The circular makes it mandatory for drone operators to provide proof of training from CAA approved training organisation, effective from December 1, 2024.
“Pursuant to the Civil Aviation Authority’s mandate to uphold the highest standards of aviation safety and mitigate risks to individuals, property, and the environment as outlined in Drone Regulation No. 1412/2023, a requirement is hereby established, for all operators of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), commonly referred to as drones, engaged in commercial or government projects, must successfully complete training from a CAA Approved Training Organization,” states the circular.
This training should be aligned with the Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) 102/Subpart For its equivalent, ensuring operators possess the necessary knowledge and skills for safe and compliant UAS operations.
This circular is effective starting from the 1st December 2024, and applications for UAS operations submitted after the aforementioned effective date will not be processed without submitting valid training certificate issued by a CAM approved training organization.
