MUSCAT : Among the prominent Omani works featured at the festival are the short documentary ‘After 48’ by director Ali Al Bimani, ‘Dahjan Al Ward’ by Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Ajmi, and ‘Holding Breaths’ by Issa Al Subhi, alongside the feature film ‘On Sunday’ by director Abdulaziz Al Jumaili, and the film adaptation of ‘The Green Box’ by director Sultan Al Qamshoui.
Organized by the Saudi Film Association in partnership with King Abdulaziz World Cultural Association (Ithra), the Saudi Film Festival, running until May 9, encompasses competitions aimed at fostering film development and programs showcasing international and Arab films. Cultural seminars, training sessions, and a platform for production companies, producers, and filmmakers are also integral parts of the event.
With 53 films competing for 36 prestigious awards across various categories, including documentaries, feature films, and screenplays, the festival is poised to celebrate excellence in cinema while providing valuable professional development opportunities through workshops and master classes, enriching the Arab cinematic landscape.
