Oman’s first green hydrogen station expected to open this year

Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Salem bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, Shell Oman celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for the Sultanate's first green hydrogen station.

MUSCAT : Located near Muscat International Airport, the station is a key component of Shell Oman’s ‘Green Hydrogen for Transportation’ project. It signifies a major step towards achieving clean and environmentally friendly mobility solutions in Oman.
The green hydrogen station is expected to be operational before the end of 2024.
Green hydrogen service station specifications are as follows:

  • 120 Kilowatt capacity of solar energy
  • Fast charging points for electric cars
  • 99% emission reduction ratio and vapor recovery system
  • Water recycling system for irrigation using wastewater
