Muscat – These visits aim to evaluate the availability of essential goods and services, prevent price exploitation, and monitor compliance with consumer protection regulations.

Specifically targeting sectors experiencing increased demand, such as heavy equipment rental, vehicle rental, car washes, and shops selling household items, the CPA has devised a comprehensive action plan. This plan includes the deployment of teams operating during both morning and evening periods to oversee market activities and ensure adherence to regulations.

Furthermore, a dedicated team has been established to receive consumer reports and engage with commercial establishment owners, facilitating swift action against any violations of consumer rights or exploitation of the situation.

To promote fair pricing and responsible business practices, shops and service providers have been advised against price gouging and encouraged to maintain adequate inventory levels. The CPA emphasizes the importance of transparency in pricing and urges consumers to report any observed violations or unfair practices.

By fostering communication and cooperation, the CPA aims to uphold consumer rights, maintain market fairness, and mitigate the impact of the tropical situation on consumers and businesses alike.
