Muscat Municipality assures readiness of central markets, slaughterhouses for Eid Al Fitr

As the final days of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr approach, Muscat Municipality has confirmed the readiness of slaughterhouses and the Mawaleh Central Fruits and Vegetables Market.

Muscat – The working hours for the Mawaleh Central Fruits and Vegetables Market during Eid al-Fitr 2024 are as follows:
During the last days of Ramadan:

  • Wholesale (Main Site): 4:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Local Production (Main Site): 4:00 am to 5:30 pm
  • Wholesale (Shops): 4:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Retail (Shops): 4:00 am to 11:00 pm

During Eid al-Fitr (First and Second Day):

  • The market will be closed
  • Entry for vehicles transporting vegetables and fruits in bulk from Gate 1: 4:00 am to 11:00 pm
  • Entry for consumer cars (individuals) from Gates 2 and 5: 4:30 am to 10:30 pm
  • The market will remain closed on Fridays
    Working Hours for Slaughterhouses during Eid Al Fitr 2024:
    Friday, April 5 (25 Ramadan) to Monday, 08 April (28 Ramadan):
  • Individuals: 7:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Corporations: 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm

First and Second Days of Eid for individuals:

  • Lamb and Goat: 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Camels and Cows: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Tuesday, 09 April (29 Ramadan) for individuals:

  • Lamb and Goat: 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Camels and Cows: 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm
    Note: From the third day of Eid onwards, operations resume from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm. Companies, meat shops, and charity organizations intending to use slaughterhouses must arrange in advance with the operating company.
