MUSCAT : Oman has donated US$1 million to aid children in the State of Palestine, according to a statement issued by UNICEF Oman.

UNICEF Oman thanked the Sultanate and stated that “this contribution will play a crucial role in UNICEF’s efforts to deliver essential aid to vulnerable children in the Gaza Strip, who confront catastrophic humanitarian crises; from threats to their safety as a result of the ongoing bombardment, severe malnutrition and nearly collapsed healthcare services to the halt of their education and the piling impacts on their mental health. With the backing from the government of Oman, UNICEF will be able to reinforce its lifesaving support for the children in the State of Palestine.”

“We extend our sincere thanks to the Foreign Ministry in the Sultanate of Oman for its commitment towards children,” said Sumaira Chowdhury, UNICEF Representative in Oman. “This generous donation will make a huge difference in the lives of children who are facing unprecedented deprivations and require all the support they can get to survive.”
