Muscat – The ROP stated that the Directorate General of Criminal Investigation and Inquiries has apprehended a group of expatriates involved in the possession and trading of fireworks.
The arrested individuals were found to have smuggled fireworks into the country, storing them within a commercial facility, and subsequently engaging in a systematic trade operation to avoid detection.
This posed a significant risk to public safety, as fireworks, when handled improperly, can cause serious harm to both property and individuals, noted the ROP, adding that legal procedures have been completed against the expat group.
