Muscat – The partnership aims to strengthen vital sectors of transport and logistics in the Sultanate of Oman by improving infrastructure, raising the efficiency of logistics services, enhancing technology and innovation, developing employee capabilities and achieving research and development progress.

H.E. Engineer Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of Transport at the Ministry, expressed the Ministry’s appreciation for this joint endeavor with Muscat University, hailing it as one of the pioneering academic institutions to proactively engage in such collaborative programs. He emphasized that this cooperation will foster a robust partnership between the government and academic institutions, aimed at collectively achieving the objectives outlined in Oman Vision 2040.

Expressing similar sentiments, Dr. Khamis bin Hamad Al Yahyai, President of Muscat University, said: “We at Muscat University, represented by the College of Logistics and Transport, are pleased to sign the first cooperation program with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the field of research services, consultations and knowledge transfer in the innovative and sustainable transport sector, logistics services and operations, and supply chain management.”

He further underscored the pivotal role of the College of Logistics and Transport, being the sole institution specialized in this field within Oman. He emphasized that its programs hold accreditation from esteemed bodies such as the International Logistics and Transport Authority and the International Supply Authority.
