Several governorates of Oman experience strong winds, dust, reduced visibility

Active southeasterly winds swept across several governorates in Oman, including Al Wusta, Dhofar, and Al Dhahirah, causing a surge in dust and dirt particles and a subsequent decrease in horizontal visibility.

MUSCAT : Thumrait station recorded gusts reaching 32 knots, while Mukhaizna and Al Mazyouna experienced winds of 16 knots.

The current monitoring of wind activity highlights the prevalence of strong southern winds in key regions, leading to atmospheric disturbances such as dust storms and reduced visibility, particularly in desert and open areas. Residents are advised to exercise caution when outdoors.

Additionally, the sea wave height along the coast of the Arabian Sea is reported to be between 1.25 to 2.0 meters.
