Oman's Public Prosecution has issued a stern warning against behaviours deemed degrading to public decency or contrary to societal traditions and customs.

MUSCAT : “Appearing in public roads or places in a manner that is degrading to public decency or against the traditions and customs is a behavior frowned upon by the society and an offense punishable by law,” states the Prosecution notice.

Under the provisions of Article 294/a of the Penal Code, individuals who violate public decency or societal traditions and customs can face penalties ranging from jail terms to fines.
