Muscat – Oman Public Prosecution stated that Mohammed bin Said bin Yusuf (Omani), Delower Bapary (Bangladeshi), MD Asikur (Bangladeshi), Shah Zeb Muhammad Sadiq (Pakistani), and Jahangir Abdul Khalek (Bangladeshi)have been sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, along with a fine of RO 10,000 each.

The judgment also mandates the collective payment of RO 2,000 to the civil plaintiff for damages. Furthermore, the court has ordered the deportation of the four expatriate efendants from the country upon completion of their sentences, along with indefinite entry bans. Additionally, seized items will be confiscated, and the sentence will be publicly announced.
Investigations conducted by the Public Prosecution revealed exploitation of an Asian victim’s vulnerability. The first and second defendants facilitated the trafficking by selling her to the third defendant for sexual exploitation for a fee of RO 200. The victim was transported from Muscat Governorate to the Wilaya of Ibri and subjected to confinement and exploitation by the defendants. The victim was offered to sex seekers for monetary gain, under threats and physical abuse.
Investigations conducted by Public Prosecution revealed that the first and second defendants had exploited an Asian victim’s vulnerability by selling her to the third defendant in exchange for obtaining 200 Omani riyals for sexual exploitation. She was then transported from Muscat Governorate to the Wilaya of Ibri and delivered to the Third Defendant who locked her in the Fourth Defendant’s room.
“She was offered to sex seekers for money, under threat and beatings. Evidence showed that the First, Third, Fourth and Fifth Defendants had sexually assaulted the victim, taking advantage of her vulnerability and lack of resourcefulness.
“Evidence also showed that the Second and Third Defendants used information technology to commit the crime; the Second Defendant posted information with the intention of trafficking the victim and other women and offered them on the social media platform (WhatsApp), while the Third Defendant presented information on the victim with the intention of luring other people for sex,” stated the notice from Public Prosecution.
Following comprehensive investigations and the gathering of evidence, the Public Prosecution referred the defendants to the court for trial.
