Real estate transactions exceed RO 207 million in Oman

Oman witnessed a 20.2 percent decline in the total value of real estate trading by the end of January 2024, recording a value of RO 207.8 million, compared to RO 260.5 million during the same period in 2023.

MUSCAT : Preliminary statistics released by the National Center for Statistics and Information reveal that fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to RO 6.6 million, indicating a 13.4 percent increase compared to January 2023.

However, the traded value of sales contracts decreased by 14.7 percent, amounting to RO 101 million for 6,124 sales contracts, despite a 6.6 percent increase in the number of contracts.

Furthermore, the traded value of mortgage contracts experienced a substantial decline of 25.4 percent, totaling RO 105.4 million for 1,522 contracts. Conversely, the number of swap contracts reached 195, amounting to RO 1.4 million.

The number of properties issued by the end of January 2024 stood at approximately 20,612, indicating a 4.7 percent decrease. Additionally, the issuance of properties to citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council saw a decline of 9.9 percent, with only 100 properties issued during the same period.
