Muscat: Omar Al-Shuaibi, the Chairman of the Zakat Committee in Seeb, underscores the significance of the Ramadan season, highlighting the Zakat Committee’s commitment to fostering a culture of compassion and benevolence. Among the committee’s flagship initiatives is the “Ramadan Basket Programme,” which provides essential food supplies to families in need, ensuring they have sustenance throughout the month.
This year, the committee takes a step further in educational outreach by broadcasting episodes delving into the life of the fifth Caliph, Omar bin Al-Aziz, and his pivotal role in bolstering the Islamic economy through zakat. Recognizing the community’s eagerness to contribute, the committee sets up the City Center platform in Al Mawaleh, inviting individuals to participate in charitable endeavours through in-kind or monetary donations.
As Ramadan draws to a close, the focus shifts towards organizing and distributing zakat al-fitr, a duty diligently carried out by the committee. Serving as the official body entrusted with this responsibility, the committee ensures that the zakat reaches deserving beneficiaries listed within the community of Seeb State.
