Muscat – The Ministry stated that it had followed the video clip circulating on social media of a citizen and his family who were stated to be homeless.

According to the Ministry, they had previously visited the citizen to offer assistance and facilitate the rental of a house for him and his family after he left his previous residence. However, the citizen declined the offered accommodation, expressing a preference for living in another area within the wilayat.

Consequently, arrangements were made with the area’s charitable team to secure alternative housing, contingent upon the completion of official rental procedures through the Ministry’s department. Despite these efforts, the citizen did not follow up with the department to finalize the necessary procedures.

The Ministry also disclosed that the citizen had previously been presented with job opportunities in the private sector, which he declined citing inadequate salary. While reiterating its commitment to supporting eligible beneficiaries, the Ministry urges the public to verify information from official sources to ensure accuracy and credibility.

“We would like to clarify that the relevant department of the Ministry had previously visited the citizen to provide assistance to him and complete the procedures for renting a house to accommodate him and his family after he left the house he had previously rented. But he refused to move into the house that was provided for him. This is due to his desire to live in another area in the state…

“While the Ministry affirms its keenness to provide support and assistance to all eligible beneficiaries of its services, it calls for investigating accuracy and credibility and taking information from its official sources,” stated the Ministry clarification.
