MUSCAT: Oman on Wednesday announced the working hours for public and private sector employees during the holy month of Ramadan.

Working hours for muslims working in companies and establishments in the private sector has been reduced to six hours per day, or around 30 hours per week.

For the government sector, official working hours have been reduced to five hours per day, with the head of the unit determining the working hours that suit operations of the unit.

The working hours will be as per the schedule mentioned below:
7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

The department head may also implement remote work for employees whose jobs allow it, in a manner that does not prejudice the workflow in that unit.

However, in all cases, the number of employees required to attend their workplaces should not be less than 50 percent of the unit’s total employees.
