MUSCAT : Organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Youth in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with the generous support of the Oman Liquefied Natural Gas Company’s Development Corporation, promises a thrilling display of maritime heritage and sporting prowess. Set against the Maritime Heritage Festival backdrop, the race is a highlight of Sur’s festivities, drawing participants and spectators alike.
The anticipation is palpable as seven rowing boats representing various local clubs and organizations gear up to compete in the race. From Sur Clubs to Al Orouba Clubs, each team brings its competitive spirit and dedication to the waters.
Ahead of the event, a coordination meeting was convened, led by Saeed bin Khamis Al Araimi, Head of the Facilities Section of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Youth. Emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, Al Araimi outlined the race’s logistics, ensuring a fair and safe competition for all participants. Weather conditions will be crucial in determining the racecourse, with flexibility built into the plans to accommodate any changes.
