LAHORE: Pakistan legislators have elected PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif as the country’s Prime Minister for the second time in a vote by the newly formed parliament, three weeks after uncertain national elections led to the formation of a coalition government.

Early in February, the South Asian country went to polls in a vote marred by a nationwide internet shutdown, arrests and violence and unusually delayed results leading to accusations that the election was rigged.
