Muscat – The school football championship for girls was launched earlier today under the patronage of Hon. Sana Abdulrahman Al Khanjari, Member of the State Council, and in the presence of Hon. Lujaina Mohsin Haider Darwish, Member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Football Federation and Head of the Federation’s Women’s Sports Committee.

In a statement to the press, Hon. Lujaina Darwish highlighted the significance of the tournament in promoting girls’ football in Oman. She emphasized the collaborative efforts between school and football federations to establish a strong foundation for girls’ football teams in the country.
The tournament will feature eight matches on its opening day. The participating teams, representing eight educational directorates, have been divided into two groups. Group one comprises Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliya, Al Buraimi, and Muscat, while group two includes Al Wasta, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, and Dhofar.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.
