Muscat: With forecasts indicating the possibility of isolated rainfall, thunderstorms, and rough seas, authorities are urging residents to take precautionary measures and stay updated on the evolving weather conditions.

According to the latest analyses from the National Early Warning Center, the Sultanate of Oman is bracing for adverse weather conditions as a trough of a low-pressure system is forecasted to impact the region from Monday onwards. Cloud formations are expected to develop over most governorates, with isolated rainfall anticipated on Monday and variable-intensity rainfall expected to continue into Tuesday.

The Civil Aviation Authority has issued a detailed advisory, warning of thunderstorms with rainfall ranging from 10 to 50 millimeters on Tuesday. Additionally, residents in the Al-Musandam Governorate are cautioned about the possibility of active downdraft winds and hail, with similar conditions extending to cover the rest of the governorates. Furthermore, there is a likelihood of an increase in sea wave heights, reaching up to 2-3 meters on the western coasts of the Musandam Governorate and the coasts of the Arabian Sea.

Southeast winds blowing at speeds of 15-25 knots are expected across most governorates, potentially leading to the rise of dust and dirt in desert and exposed areas. As Monday and Tuesday approach, the CAA advises all residents to exercise caution during rainfall and wadi flow. Additionally, individuals planning maritime activities are urged to check visibility and sea conditions before sailing and to closely monitor weather bulletins and reports issued by the authorities.
