MUSCAT : The Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources has issued Ministerial Decision No. 39/2024, amending some provisions of the executive regulations of the Law on Fishing and Protection of Marine Living Resources.
Based on the Law of Live Aquatic Wealth issued by Royal Decree No. 20/2019 and the Executive Regulations of the Law of Sea Fishing and Protection of Aquatic Living Resources issued by Ministerial Resolution No. 4/94, and based on what the public interest requires, the Ministry has issued the following amendment:
Fishing for sharks will be prohibited from the first day of December until the last day of September of the following year.
Everything that contravenes this decision, or conflicts with its provisions, shall be cancelled.
This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and shall be effective from the day following the date of its publication.
