ABU DHABI : The 99 Racing team, led by the skilled Ahmad Al-Harthy, entered the championship with high hopes, riding on their MP2 car alongside teammates from Switzerland, Deltraz, and the new addition, Albuquerque. However, their aspirations took a hit when a fateful accident in the first race forced them to retire prematurely, robbing them of crucial points that could have secured the championship title.

Despite their best efforts to recuperate, the team struggled to find their footing in the subsequent race, settling for an eleventh-place finish in the final leg of the championship. This setback relegated them to second runner-up, a bitter pill to swallow for Al-Harthy, who had aimed for nothing less than victory in his debut on MP2 seat cars.

Reflecting on the tumultuous turn of events, Al-Harthy expressed his disappointment, citing the stark contrast between their promising start and the devastating outcome. Despite clinching pole position in the qualifying trials for the fourth and fifth races, unforeseen obstacles, including a collision with another racer, threw their campaign off course.

Undeterred by the setbacks, the team rallied, pouring their efforts into repairing the damaged car with relentless determination. However, their perseverance was not enough to overcome the insurmountable challenges posed by the competition, culminating in a bittersweet third-place finish in the championship standings.
