Golden Globes 2024 just dished out an array of winners, with performances that mesmerized, dazzled and kept us at the edge of our seats. The Golden Globe Awards have always stayed true to respecting the art form and valuing the efforts put in by those involved in making us escape into a world of fantasy with cinema.

Speaking of ‘fantasy’, it’s time to escape into your binge list for this week!

Arcane (Netflix)

Some of you might be familiar with the days of coming back home and switching on your PC, grabbing a drink and logging into the world of League of Legends. The world of gaming was never the same once League of Legends made landfall, and out of that universe comes ‘Arcane’ a steampunk action adventure that will satisfy the cravings of a gamer in you while giving you a compelling story that will have you wanting for more.

Under the supervision of Riot Games, Arcane introduces a tale of 2 sisters fending for themselves in a world of chaos. With catchy music by Imagine Dragons and some phenomenal work from the animators, this series will keep you waiting for the next season this year.

Aspirants (Amazon Prime)

India has seen a lot of great content being put out on OTT platforms, but before content and creators boomed for digital platforms in India, a lot of good shows were already making the rounds on YouTube, with indie creators and writers aspiring to make it big someday, and out of those aspirations came, ‘Aspirants’. Produced by TVF (The Viral Fever), known for their short skits and comedic content, came out a story of perseverance and life. The show sucks us into the streets of Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi, where we follow the story of 3 friends in their pursuit to crack UPSC, known as one of the toughest competitive exams in India and worldwide. This show made waves on its premiere on YouTube and was picked up by Prime Video for its second season. Both seasons can be accessed on Prime Video, highlighting that good scripts will always find a way to make it to the limelight.
