Blue Eye Samurai (Netflix)

Do you remember when you would put on Cartoon Network and sit and binge on content for hours as a child? Those days, you would spend lazying around, doing nothing, and you would hear a very familiar tune that can bring any kid to life: the white-robed samurai, Samurai Jack. Netflix has been on a roll with all the tremendous animated content they have been putting out, but Blue Eye Samurai takes the cake for being an absolute bing fest. A tale of a lone samurai set in the 17th century when Japan was closing the gates to all those who weren’t Japanese and to those who were considered a ‘mixed breed’, our protagonist, Mizu, is on a quest for vengeance being considered as a ‘monster’ for being born different. A brilliantly written show, and even more expertly animated, Blue Eye Samurai emerges as a show that will have you subscribing to Netflix to make sure you don’t miss the next season.

Made In Heaven (Amazon Prime)

Ever wondered what dreams are made of? Some are made of goals and desires, while some are wrapped in wedding clothes, waiting to unfold chapters of love and affection. At least, that’s a perception many of us have regarding marriage, but reality solemnizes a different tale for us all. Nitya Mehra, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Prashant Nair, Alankrita Shrivastava, and Neeraj Ghaywan have very intricately spun the many realities of Indian marriage through the eyes of two wedding planners from Delhi, Tara and Karan. One thing you can always trust Zoya Akthar to do is give you complex yet relatable characters and stories that will leave a lasting effect on you, and Made In Heaven does just that. The sets, the attire and the pompous side of Indian weddings are captured perfectly to show you what the actual ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’ is all about. With the latest season out in August 2023, your binge fest will feel decadent with this series.
