Muscat – Shot entirely in the picturesque locations of Oman, Raastha is a unique desert survival thriller set for release on January 5th, 2024.

Raastha is based on true events that transpired in 2011 on the Saudi Arabian side of the Rub’ al Khali desert, which inspired the film’s two writers.

Produced under the banner of ALU Entertainment, Raastha is an Aneesh Anwar film that boasts Malayalam actors as well as promising Omani actors. A production that had the crew travel deep inside the desert to emulate the challenging terrain speaks volumes about the initiative the government and local authorities took to ensure that the movie came to fruition.

The Omani actor Khamis Al Rawahi, while speaking regarding his experience of acting in an Indian film, stated that this project was the perfect outlet to capture the beautiful relationship Oman and India have enjoyed over the years.

Raastha has paved a path for many more projects to bud in Oman as it positions itself to many more collaborations that will help reveal its untapped tapestry of nature.
