MUSCAT : Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group International, has completed his 50th year in the United Arab Emirates.
Yusuff Ali first landed in UAE on December 31, 1973 from Mumbai on board a ship named ‘Dumra’, which docked at Dubai’s Rashid port.
“I am extremely proud to be a resident of Abu Dhabi, UAE since 50 years,” Yusuff Ali wrote on his official social media page.

“I take this opportunity to thank beloved His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, for leading this great country. I am also thankful to His Highness for the great support being extended to me,” Yusuff Ali said.
The charismatic Chairman of Lulu Group also had the opportunity to meet HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and show his passport which has his first entry to UAE.
Started as a small trading centre in 1970s in UAE, Lulu today boasts one of the biggest retail conglomerates, with more than 260 hypermarkets and shopping malls across 24 countries, employing over 70,000 people from 46 countries.
In an interview with UAE-based Gulf News, Yusuff Ali said: “I don’t have any hobby or passion other than work. So, till the day I’m healthy, I’ll come to the office and work as usual. Retirement is not an option and I never think about it.”
