MUSCAT : Amidst commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, discussions between His Majesty the Sultan and President Berset gravitated towards enhancing mutual ties and exploring avenues for collaborative ventures.
Both leaders were eager to bolster exchanges in economy, trade, investment, tourism, environment, logistics, renewable energy, education, and research.
Highlighting the Global Health and Peace Initiative initiated by Oman and Switzerland within the World Health Organization, the leaders advocated for global cooperation in achieving health and peace for all.

The visit marked the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding, including partnerships in healthcare development with Roche, tourism cooperation, and sustainable energy initiatives. A tangible collaboration between Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals and a Swiss consortium will commence in January 2024, spearheading sustainable energy technologies. Moreover, they underscored their unwavering commitment to international law and the multilateral system to foster justice, freedom, and dignified living standards.
President Berset expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended by His Majesty the Sultan and extended an invitation for a reciprocal visit to Switzerland.
