GUJARAT – This exercise, operating in adherence to the National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan (NOS-DCP), is a pivotal simulation that scrutinizes diverse dimensions of marine pollution response mechanisms. It evaluates the preparedness of resource agencies in combating potential marine spill crises, as highlighted by a Coast Guard official. In a recent stride toward bolstering coastal security measures, the India Coast Guard conducted a comprehensive Coastal Security exercise, ‘Sagar Kavach,’ spanning November 21-23, exclusively for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The successful eighth edition witnessed the participation of over 85 representatives from 50 agencies, including 29 foreign observers from 22 friendly nations and international organizations.
