Truck movement restricted on key roads in Oman

To mitigate potential traffic congestion, the Royal Oman Police -The Directorate General of Traffic- has issued a circular prohibiting the movement of trucks on specific roads during peak hours.

MUSCAT : In a bid to prevent potential traffic snarls, the Royal Oman Police’s Directorate General of Traffic has issued a circular outlining specific road restrictions for trucks in the interest of public safety.

The Directorate General of Traffic- announces that movement of trucks is not permitted as follows:

  • Tuesday, 21-11-2023 from 12:00 PM – 16:00 PM
  • Saturday: 25-11-2023 from 18:00 PM – 22:00 PM

The prohibited roads encompass vital routes such as the main roads in Muscat Governorate, Al Dhakhiliyah Road (Muscat – Bidbid Bridge), and Al Batinah Highway (Muscat – Shinas).

The Royal Oman Police emphasizes the importance of compliance with these directives for the safety of all road users.
