MUSCAT : The Exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, in cooperation with ASAS Muscat, was formally opened by the Minister H.E. Dr. Saud bin Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Habsi, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser bin Abdullah Al Bakri, Undersecretary for Agriculture. The ceremony was also attended by a number of Ministry officials, from the Arab Federation of Dates, local date and honey companies, and from outside the Sultanate of Oman participating in the activities.
The exhibition aims to provide an opportunity for factories and export companies in the Gulf and Arab countries and other countries that are working in the production of dates and honey and their accessories and specializations to expand their trade horizons.
It also aims to display latest developments in modern technology applications used in the field of dates and honey, including products, innovations and quality systems at the level of industrial and commercial institutions and companies; it seeks to consolidate the culture of invention, innovation, competition and cooperation between countries participating in international exhibitions.

It is worth noting that the exhibition also seeks to introduce the local products of dates and honey, increase their competitiveness, open new markets for export regionally and internationally, increase investments in the field of dates and honey, and stay abreast of technological innovations in the date and honey industry.
