MUSCAT – The Consumer Protection Department in Musandam in Khasab successfully facilitated an amicable settlement between a consumer and a fishing boat repair workshop. The consumer had engaged a fishing boat repair workshop to maintain and repair his wooden boat and paid an upfront amount of OMR 2800 for the agreed-upon services. However, the workshop failed to complete the maintenance work within the specified timeframe, leading to dissatisfaction on the consumer’s part.
In response to the consumer’s complaint, the CPA initiated necessary procedures and engaged in discussions with the workshop, which was willing to resolve the matter amicably and pay a refund of OMR 1800 to the consumer, as the remaining maintenance fee.
