Oman advances 10 places in Global Innovation Index 2023

The Sultanate of Oman advanced 10 places in the Global Innovation Index for the year 2023, ranking 69th globally out of 132 countries

Muscat: The report issued by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) reveals that Oman has advanced in innovation performance by a rate of 9 places, and has been ranked among the top 20 countries in the world in 5 sub-indicators, achieving second place globally in the percentage of science graduates; it ranks ninth globally in the percentage of government spending per student.

H.E. Dr Saif bin Abdullah al Hadabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation for Scientific Research and Innovation, Head of the National Team for Improving the Sultanate of Oman’s Performance in the Global Innovation Index, confirms that the progress of the Sultanate of Oman in this year’s Innovation Index was the result of partnership and combined efforts between various institutions and national programs to improve innovation indicators through the national team that began its work after the issuance of the innovation report last year.
