Muscat – The Ministry stated that its archaeological team conducted extensive salvage archaeological excavations, from September 17 to 27, at an archaeological site in the village of Faiha in Samayil.

The archaeological excavations focused on the first millennium BC era’s tombs, which were built underground on oval and rectangular rooms with inner walls lined with stones and covered with flat stones.

The excavation work unearthed a variety of pottery vessels, such as jars, bowls, flasks, some glazed pottery vessels, and utensils from the Parthian civilization in Iran and from Sindh. It also led to the discovery of number of glass bottles, a chloride stone vessel, iron arrowheads, and jewelry represented by bracelets, earrings, rings, and beads.
