Muscat – This first of its kind event in the Sultanate of Oman is being organized by the Children First Association under the theme ‘Towards National Strategy for Gifted Children’.
The international conference will explore contemporary trends in raising gifted and talented children by bringing together a selection of academics, specialists and those interested in children’s development from Arab and other foreign countries to share experiences and raise national, regional and international awareness on the upbringing and care of gifted children.
The Conference aims to benefit from international and Arab experiences in the field of identifying gifted and talented children; anticipate the future of gifted and talented children; enhance the role of family and school in caring for and raising gifted and talented children; shed light on the role of civil society institutions, private sector, voluntary, professional institutions and associations in caring for and educating gifted and talented children; contribute to the formulation of a national and Arab strategy for the care of gifted and talented children; encourage scientific research in the field of talent, excellence and creativity; and build an institutional framework to link associations and institutions for the gifted and talented.
The Conference will be accompanied by an exhibition specializing in children’s needs; it will include different platforms offering several training seminars and recreational activities, as well as exhibitors from the fields of education and health among others.
