Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate received complaints from consumers who indicated that they had contracted a commercial establishment dealing in fabrication and fixing of kitchens windows and doors for their house works.

Unfortunately, the establishment failed to carry out and complete the work for some customers and also provided defective locks on doors installed. The customers were unable to resolve the issue with the establishment, which did not honor its contractual obligations nor fulfilled the remaining work.

The Court convicted the accused and ordered him to pay OMR 900 and to return to the plaintiffs OMR 1400 and repair the defective door and complete the remainder works.

The CPA calls on all merchants and suppliers to commit to transparency and credibility, and to refrain from misleading and false advertisements when promoting goods and services that the consumer needs.
