MUSCAT : The Ministry stated that the vaccination will target citizens and residents over the age of 60 and people suffering from chronic diseases such as respiratory diseases, heart diseases, renal, hepatic, neurological, blood or metabolic disorders, as well as people with uncontrolled diabetes and morbid obesity – adults and children.
The target group also includes pregnant women, pilgrims, health sector workers, and children (two-year olds).
The Ministry calls on the specified groups to go to the nearest health institution to take the seasonal vaccine so as to avoid influenza infection, which affects the respiratory system, and which may cause serious complications.

The Ministry also clarified that the vaccine is available in the private health sector for citizens and residents of the community who are not targeted by the vaccine.
