TAS’ changes the narrative with its inspirational ‘Changemakers’ event  

The Arabian Stories’ (TAS) ‘Changemakers’ event, held on September 12 at Crowne Plaza Muscat, was a celebration of visionaries, innovators, and industry leaders.

MUSCAT : In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, the need for inspiring stories of change and resilience has never been greater. Amidst this backdrop, The Arabian Stories, Oman’s popular interactive digital media company, rose to the occasion with its groundbreaking event – ‘Changemakers’ – which was held on Tuesday under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Basma Al Said, Founder of Oman’s first mental health clinic ‘Whispers of Serenity’, and the mental health campaign ‘Not Alone’.  

The impressive event celebrated and honored individuals who are redefining the norms, challenging conventions, and making a lasting impact in their respective fields. ‘Changemakers’ proved that it wasn’t just an event to felicitate talent and expertise; it was a testament to the power of human potential and individual abilities to transform society for the better.

The evening began with Nishad Padiyarath, CEO of TAS, unveiling the logo for the upcoming ‘Tribute to the Nation’ drawing competition, as well as launching the teaser advertisement for the new edition of the popular TAS Conclave.

Addressing the elite gathering, Nishad Padiyarath expressed his delight at presenting the first edition of TAS Changemakers, which he described as yet another milestone in the portfolio of The Arabian Stories’ achievements since its inception.

“The last four and half years have been truly a rewarding experience for us at TAS. We started as a 24/7 digital news network, and today we have become the voice of the people, constantly evolving and innovating. We boast some of the most successful brands under the TAS Media Group, prominent among which is our annual TAS ICONS magazine, which is all set for its fourth edition. Besides, the BusinessPlus Magazine which was launched last year, will be introduce in the UAE this year, and in India during the next year as part of our international expansion process,” he explained.

Adding further, he said: “My heart is full today as I stand before you seeing a full-house. It took us almost three months to finalize the names of the six Changemakers who will be feted today and we are indeed privileged to have the best of individuals from the industry being selected as the TAS Changemaker of the Year. These are people who have created a positive change in the society and also contributed to the growth of Oman. Today we will be celebrating their inspiring journeys and their success stories.”  

Following this, the CEO introduced the six chosen trailblazers: Her Highness Sayyida Hujaija Al Said, International Ambassador for Social Responsibility and advocate for people with disabilities, Oman’s football superstar Ali Al Habsi, Amal Al Raisi, fashion designer, Nadhira Al Harthy, first Omani woman to climb Mount Everest, Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, and Abdul Hakeem Omar Al Ojaili, CEO of BankDhofar.

The six renowned thought leaders were invited on to the stage to receive the prestigious  ‘Changemakers’ award and share with the esteemed audience their stories of vision and values for the betterment of the society. Every TAS Changemaker’s entry to the stage and the podium was accompanied by a video presentation highlighting their journeys towards success and growth.

Expectedly, background videos and powerful keynote speeches left the audience, featuring Oman’s who’s who, motivated and inspired. Their insights and experiences shed light on the paths to success, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and the belief in one’s ability to create change.

TAS CEO also announced the theme for the third edition of TAS Conclave, which is recognised as a national platform that brings together the country’s top visionaries, leaders, government officials, eminent speakers and even businessmen together.  The next edition of the Conclave, scheduled to take place on November 28th, will be focused on the theme ‘The future that is Oman!’, he noted.

He also thanked Her Highness Sayyida Basma Al Said for being the patron of the event, as well as the ambassadors of India, Sri Lanka and Turkey for gracing the occasion.
