Muscat – The Ministry has granted licenses to ‘Otaxi’ from Cloud World Trading and ‘Oman Taxi’ from Ubar Smart Cities Company.
The taxi services will offer trips at fixed prices determined before the trip. The two companies will also offer route tracking and monitoring systems.
The Ministry noted that the licenses were granted after the companies fulfilled the requirements and provisions of the regulations of the Land Transport Law, which is part of the Ministry’s decision to ensure that all taxi owners at airports operate under the licensed companies to improve public transportation system in the country.
The Ministry has further urged all taxi drivers operating at airports to join the licensed applications by the beginning of October. As per the announcement, the provision of the service at airports will be limited to
organizers of the approved applications.
