Muscat – The Capital Market Authority, represented by the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing Terrorism department, launched the electronic risk matrix system concerned with building a risk-based approach that is approved in classifying money laundering and terrorist financing risks for companies licensed by the Authority.
The system is used to identify Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism risks for companies licensed by the CMA.
It facilitates classifying licensed companies according to the risk matrix, and is based on international standards and local regulations. It also facilitates CMA’s regulatory efforts and enhances risk identification method
The program facilitates determining the position of each company in the risk measurement index according to internationally recognized standards, in addition to the legislative requirements concerned with combating these practices within the Sultanate of Oman.
