Muscat: Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information showed that the total fixed-line telephone subscriptions connected to Internet Protocol technology amounted to about 277,479 subscriptions at the end of last July, while the total fixed-line subscriptions, including prepaid and post-paid, decreased by 10.3 percent to reach 231,015 subscriptions.
Statistics showed that the number of mobile phone subscriptions increased by 9.6 percent by the end of last July, recording 7,055,036 subscriptions; the largest number of mobile phone subscriptions were prepaid.
The number of subscriptions reached 5,312,178 lines, an increase of 6.7 percent until the end of July 2023. The number of active mobile broadband Internet subscriptions reached 6,008,211 subscriptions.
