MUSCAT : In reply to the common question pertaining to procedures for submitting a request for the disbursement of cash benefits under social protection, the SPF stated the following:

The procedures and stages of benefiting from cash benefits for social protection will be as follows:

Pre-registration stage: This is the current stage in which the beneficiaries are expected to ensure that their data recorded in the civil registry is correct (such as phone numbers, residence addresses, details and links of the family tree), and that all civil events – marriage, divorce, death – are registered in the civil registry, also that these accounts are not closed.

Registration stage: The fund will announce the start date of the registration phase for benefits, and the registration channels, later this year.

In order to simplify registration procedures for obtaining benefits, data will be obtained from civil status records and from banks through the Central Bank, which confirms the importance of updating personal data in the civil registry, and the existence of an effective bank account.

Exchange stage: This phase will start at the beginning of 2024, when cash benefits will be disbursed to registered beneficiaries.
